Propane space heaters

If you suddenly find yourself without electricity a propane space heater is a good option. Just be very careful as any type of heater that burns fuel will emit deadly carbon monoxide. These heaters should only be used in a well ventilated area.

These type space heaters are actually designed for uses such as camping or outdoor patios.

They could be used in a garage but again they must be well ventilated. There are numerous stories of people dying because they used a fuel type space heater in an unventilated area.

Always make sure you consider safety no matter what type of space heater you use

Ceramic and Quartz Space Heaters

There are also ceramic and quartz infrared type space heaters.

The ceramic space heaters use a ceramic element inside the unit which is heated up by electricity. Some of these types of space heaters also have fans in them which will help heat up the room quicker.

A type of radiant space heater is an infrared heater. These type of space heaters work the same way the sun works by heating up things from the inside by penetration. Only the objects are heated not the air, I know it sounds kind of weird.

Some people compare these type heaters with sitting in the warm sunlight.

Make sure and do your research to make sure that you get the right space heater for what you need it to do.

Types of Space Heaters

A couple of different types of space heaters are radiant and convection. Some come with fans and some don't. For heating a larger room quickly consider a convection type space heater with a fan. This will allow the warm air to circulate in the room quicker. There are also large portable space heaters with wheels which are perfect for a workshop or garage.

Another economical type space heater is an oil filled radiator type heater. These heaters utilize a special heating oil similar to those used in larger industrial type operations. This oil does not burn so it never has to be replaced. It takes longer for these heaters to heat up but they will heat the room for a long time even after they are turned off.

Utilizing A Space Heater

Everyone is talking about how to save money on your utility bills. One way to do this is by cutting back your thermostat in the winter. But you do want to stay warm don't you? One way to do both is by utilizing a space heater.

A space heater will allow you to heat just the areas you are in without heating the entire house. There is really no need to heat up rooms that you don't use, this is just wasting electricity.

This concept is not just for large homes either. It works just as well in smaller homes.

You might also have a room or area in your house that always seems to be cooler than the rest of the house. In this case a space heater is ideal for knocking out the chill in these particular areas.

Consider a space heater in these situations.
